Another exciting trip to VW..

Post by Si_GTi »

This is what usually happens when I go get some work done on my Polo at the local franchise... today was no different, lol..

Replacement of one blown buld in the central section of the dash (the one that lights up the a/c and temp controls) - £36.10!

Every time I go in there to collect the car the young lady behind the parts desk giggles at me cos I keep going 'how much?!?' when they produce receipts... I still haven't gotten over how much things cost! :(

The Mini was so much cheaper...... but no I'm not going back to a Mini :P

lol cheers fella, I'll bear it in mind after the end of this month, when the warranty expires! At the moment all the work on my car is done by Inchape VW in Shrewsbury - mostly under the aforementioned warranty! I'll probably continue to take it there for servicing every 12 months but not for M.O.T.s... is £40.75 a little steep or is it just me?

BTW do you know of any independent VW/Audi specialists in town? Theres a place behind the Dunn Cow just before Kwik Fit but I've not yet gone and had a look...

£40.75 is the current standard ministry test fee. The garage has to give that to the govt to register the car as tested for the year or summink...

The vw place behind the dun cow is called RC Motors and it's quite good ive never had any work done there but have had dealing's with them in the past i would def give them a try,
my mate does all my work so i don't have to worry about that sort of thing lol .

I think that some garages discount the MOT so that you do end up paying 25 of your hard-earned notes...shop around, I'm sure you can get it cheaper!
