Brake Pad Change

Post by dillo161 »

Hi all,

I'm changing all brake pads on my BlueGT. I have just bought a piston wind back tool as I know this is necessary. Are there any other tricky points I should watch out for?

Thanks

I can't think of anything else, one thing though, you can reverse the adaptor on the wind back tool and use it to gently push the front pistons back in, even place a bit of wood between the piston and the wind back tool - doing that saves forcing the front ones back in using big screwdrivers etc!

Just one other thing, if there is not enough access to mess about with the rear ones - you can always release the handbrake cable securing clip on the axle or release the cable at the lever on the calliper.
