Central locking kit
Central locking kit
anyone used these kits from the bay ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Remote-Centra ... 3f4beae4e4 Don't have remote locking on my polo and really want to upgrade it, just curious about fitting, heard stories about fitting in line resistors etc ? What's all that about ? I have a friend that would fit it but I don't want to give him a nightmare doing it

Re: Central locking kit
IMO wouldn't trust the locking/security system of my car with a £12 eBay part. It's begging for trouble.
Re: Central locking kit
I'm open to suggestions if you know of a more expensive/trusted upgrade ?

Re: Central locking kit
Rclick.co.uk
They do a kit now with a genuine VW key shell
You'll need to put a resistor in for the central locking on these

Re: Central locking kit
Been reading up on the rclick but where does the resistor go ? What value and where can I get one ? Help ! Got the kit ordered and want as much info as possible before I/we attempt to fit it ? Is there anyone with a wiring diagram out there ?

Re: Central locking kit
Thanks for that, can just order a 180 ohm resistor from eBay ? Waiting to get a full weekend off to fit the kit so not an immediate rush yet

Re: Central locking kit
Right, I have the rclick kit, had the keys cut, which was a mission itself, moved the transponders over, keys are working locks and starting car fine now, just need to install the kit tomoro, just been reading through the kit and it also has window closure too, couple of questions, I had a quick look up behind the dash in drivers footwell and can only find one harness coming from door, is this the one I need to split and tap into ?
Second question, do I need to connect the window closure wire ? My windows close when the key is held in the closed position anyway ?

Re: Central locking kit
No, still controlled by the key
Getting the window roll up to work is more complicated on these models than a single wire. Requires diodes and relays
