First icy morning today and it looks like they've put heated washer jets on mine by mistake. Result!

Suppose I had better introduce myself!

I'm Lewis from Aberdeen, bought a Polo Match Edition in April 2014 on a 5 year PCP, was perfect at the time being a 1.2 TDI was super economic for my 68 mile a day commute.

Circumstances changed, I now drive 8 miles to work and earn more wonga, so was no longer able to justify a diesel.

Was put off VW by my current car as it has been plagued with issues, most of which were caused by the Dealer (Specialist Cars VW in Aberdeen)

Then I saw a post on Barnetts of Dundee's Facebook about the new all shiny shiny GTI (Pocket Rocket).

Booked a test drive for a few weeks time for when the Derv was booked in for a service as I would NEVER use Specialist again, impatience got the better of me and I went to Specialist Cars for a play and some numbers. The play was good and the numbers were OK.

The following weekend was where the magic happened, October 10th, I was in Edinburgh and GTI World was calling my name...

After a few hours in the hot seat with Billie Dunlop and after a lovely long Test Drive we were arguing over the finer numbers in life.

Worked out a fantastic deal where he undercut Aberdeen by over 1K!

£1500 Deposit (to clear neg equity)
£1000 Dealer Deposit
£8k for my 14 plate 1.2TDI with near 40k on the clock (very reasonable price I reckon)
£304 per month and the following spec!!!!

3 door Manual
Flat Black
Convenience Pack
Sports Pack
Car Net App Connect

Not too many toys but all the ones I'll use most!

Cant wait to get her, sadly looking at unconfirmed Build Week 2 :( so February Delivery but can't wait!!!!!

New GTI

Driving home tonight I had to reverse down an unlit country road to discover that the reversing light is particularly weak. Reversing camera helped a bit but was a bit scary as I couldn't see very far down the road which was only one car width and the sensors were bleeping like crazy. Anyone noticed how poor the reversing light is or is it just me?

As a temporary solution I will try putting the rear fog light on as well to see if that provides better illumination!

I've noticed the reverse light is a bit s**t too. Don't think the tinted rear windows help.

yeah i was looking at changing the reversing light lamp to an LED lamp but there could be an issue with the camera.

anyone know the lamp type/number for the reversing light?

Welcome :) Hopefully the wait isn't too bad.

I got told 16 /20 weeks originally but it should be being built this week (ordered 17th October).
