Right had time to have an extended play with stereo today, hit on some settings which sound pretty good. Nice bass without booming and not so much harshness. Tried on few different types of stuff. Give it a few days and I'll see if it needs any tweaks.Image

ive turned the bass to -3 mid to +3 and treble to +4 and ive faded it to be in the cup holder

i think a new set of front comps and a ktp-445 should sort out a few things but i'm not going to do anything until vw sort their act out with the s**t early head units

i turn the bass down on any vehicle i drive, as i tend to find oem setups are usually bass heavy and i tend to listen quite loud and i can't stand distortion lol

My GTI is due next month, have VW sorted the problem that early head units had (popping etc) or are you guys that have only just received yours getting the same issues ? Also are there any other issues you guys have that I need to know about ?

Regards
Bradley

Welcome Bradley, there are others on here far more qualified to answer ur question. I've had no stereo pops just a poor sounding one in my opinion, sqeaky brakes, odd cabin rattle and yes the reverse light is pants lol

Yes I can answer that and an update on what I posted earlier today.
It is now occasionally popping again with speaker fade.
This week I had the latest software update at the dealer married to a replacement unit fitted by vw a few weeks ago. Result = same issues.
I'm bored by it all and won't bother going back until I hear they have a clue how to fix it.
(Let's face it they didn't with the 6R engine problems many of us endured!)

Collected my car this afternoon. What a machine!! I've set the sound system up with your settings, Andy, and it sounds pretty good to me. Thought it was a bit quiet at first, but then discovered you can switch it to a 'loud' setting. ;)
I'll post a few pics of the car tomorrow. It was dark when I left the dealers.

Am I right in thinking that the sound system is set up with the really annoying system that automatically adjusts the volume depending on how fast/slow you go?
