I ordered the nav and then when i plugged my iPhone in to the car for the first time it came up with app connect and I hadn't ticked it on the options list so I presume it does.....I never use it personally - i prefer the functionality of the VW system but each to their own!
Thanks. I was hoping it might make Spotify seamless through the head unit rather than having to faff with my handset if I have it. Will probably always use the built in nav system as it looks pretty good.
I don't personally use Spotify but im sure some of the users on here use the Spotify through the VW unit without the app connect through the bluetooth and through the usb with album artwork the only thing you compromise with using the Bluetooth connectivity. In regards to the Nav itself, its a big step up to what was installed on the previous GTI with the RDS 510 i think?! The mapping is a lot clearer, you get the speed limits up on the main screen, much clearer detail on the info screen beetween the rev and speedometer and just a lot easier to use.

Third time lucky....taptalk isn't working well for me lol

Hi folks,

Ordered my new gti in October and is due mid Feb. Went for 3doors, white and convenience pack.

Have a load of questions so bear with me lol

Is this a polo 6r or c?

Has anyone fitted h&r lower lowering springs?

What does this new headunit actually do? Does it like with android phones?

Any cool retro fits?

Any good alternatives to milltek exhausts?

Many thanks

Hi Andy, also ordered mine in october and am looking at late Jan, build week starts a week monday :D :D

Can confirm with you this is now the 6c as opposed to the 6r which is 64 back, I'm tempted to throw some coilovers on mine but need to find out if it affects the sports dynamic suspension option that ive gone for before forking out for some...

New head unit looks great and am pretty certain it comes with full link up tech to support your android,

Have noticed that milltek have actually brought an exhaust system out for this engine now, although similar companies such as supersprint, cobra and scorpion probably aren't far behind..

Been told adding coilovers will possibly give a computer vault due to being electronic dampers however just springs are fine.. i've got a set of h&r ultra low coilovers off my 6r sat in the garage so after a month or two they might go on the car once its finally here and ill update anyone if i have any issues. if i do i will most likely remove them and go standard again..

That will be an interesting test for sure, if springs are ok and dont necessarily change anything with the system then I will definitely go down the route of getting myself a set providing I can sacrifice some ride comfort...

Scorpion are developing an exhaust on my car next month so I would expect them to offer one soon after

So now the dealer is telling me I need to add on the £100 option to get App Connect as the Sat Nav alone isn't enough. So confusing!!

Ooh exciting :D I'm sure you'll love it :D

Had the day off today so I've had a blast out in mine, had to go back to VW as the number plate was slightly wrong - topped up my fuel and a bottle of champers for "inconveniencing" me.

Nice gesture for the inconvenience, but how did they get the number plate wrong ?
I guess whoever made the plates up misread a letter? I didn't spot it for a day, so I'm not too bothered they didn't either.

Try rubbing it with an eraser?

Hi guys been looking into springs for the polo, I'm hopefully opting for some kW v1 coilovers as they will also include, KW's own warning cancellation kit to enable you to remove the factory adaptive damping. Providing funding allows anyways. I'm tempted to just get springs but I'm worried the ride will be too crashy. Just got some team heko wind deflectors over Christmas, think they really do suit the car as they carry on the look of the tinted back window. Will have to grab a picture and put it up!

For anyone with the sports pack interested in coilovers, this could be a solution.. appears they work with the factory damper adjustments
