RCD510 Aux help!!!

Post by Josherswilson »

Morning guys.
Bought myself an RCD510 unit to swap for my RCD310.
Fitted it this morning and everything works apart from aux?
I've looked through the setup and it has "activate aux input" which is ticket but still nothing?

Here's some pics to show you what I've got... Any help will be appreciated

Is your aux direct into the unit or via the MDI

Aux was already installed, not sure what you mean by MDI?

MDI is the iPod/Usb interface. Polos above a certain trim level have it as a standard feature. If MDI is fitted, aux can go via that instead

What is that piggy back loom for? Is it bluetooth?

Yeah it has IPod MDI in the glove box. The aux is infront of the cup holders in the middle?
Yeah it's for one of those VW hands free kits

Check the loom is firmly in on both sides . I've seen it before where he aux plug (smaller rectangle) comes loose and the aux stops working.
