Will theese be too wide?

Post by wrecksigge »

Hey there!

I have tried searching the forum regarding this question as i figure it has been asked many times before. It is regarding wheels for my Polo 6R. But I could not really find the answer i was looking for regarding the max widht of wheels. It seems tho that 8j is the widest you would want to go, atleast when it comes to 18" wheels.

The wheels i am interested in is only 17" but as wide as 8.25J with ET35. Im planning to lower the car aswell with HR 25/40 springs.

So the question is my dear friends, will they fit or will the extra 0,25inch make me rub?

Theese are the wheels if anyone is curious: http://jr-wheels.com/towar.1984.japan.r ... tt.br.html

Thank you :)

The link is not working for me so i cant see the wheels. But i think there are some people here with 8.5J wheels if i remember correctly but im not sure. So the 8.25J shouldnt be a problem IF im right.

Same as me Im currently also on H&R springs. Im thinking about upgrading maybe to better dampers or i might go for full coilover later.

I am going to replace the dampers and springs with a full kit from H&R.

It seems a little odd to have wider tyres on the non driven wheels, do you have a particular reason or is it just cosmetic. Does it cause abnormal high levels of under steer?
