I was hoping it wasn't gonna be the later week but what can we do :(

Haha it will go quick, I try and forget about it and try and just think each weekend is a step closer haha.

Just think what it's gonna be like for our cars in those containers while there's a big ol Storm blowing the boat around out there [emoji23][emoji23]

Well my car went into vw again today, this time for the trip reset and clock buttons being stuck in! Apparently this can happen when the buttons aren't located properly in the manufacturing process. As it turns out they weren't able to get them sorted so they have had to back order me a new speedo which can take around ten days. Also means my keys will have to be re-calibrated to the car.

On the plus side of things something is happening cosmetically on Tuesday. Will get a picture on for yous when it's done! :P

Interesting - I visited my dealer the other day and the chap that took me to work was telling me about another Polo (Not GTI), that had the same fault. He was dismayed (like me) that the whole instrument binnacle needs to be replaced!

I honestly couldn't get my head around it when he was telling me, you'd think there would be a simple fix for it!

These are the 25/40mm ones that are suitable for the gti as I asked the guy for the part number. I was going to get them but don't have the funds at the moment :(

Has anyone come from the previous 1.4 180 bhp GTI? Or Ibiza cupra/fabia vrs? I had a 14 plate Ibiza cupra and never actually test drove the GTI. Hoping it's just as exciting if not more with the new car plus being manual instead of DSG [emoji1] Anyone had the previous and happy with the GTI over the previous ?

Just a quick question, with the previous GTI / Ibiza Cupra being DSG only, did you find it a good gearbox? I know you said you hope the new Polo is just as exciting so sounds like it must have been good fun, but I believe your going for a manual now?

Is that because you just fancied a change or always prefer manual, or did you find the DSG annoying/irritating at times?

The gearbox in the cupra was outstanding I personally think. The DSG was so seem less in standard driving that you wouldn't even notice a gear change it was as smooth as. The sport mode was a bit pointless but putting it into flappy paddles was great fun taking it through the revs.

Wanted to go back to manual purely for the fact that I got bored of just planting my right foot down and doing nothing else, it's a great car cannot doubt it but just fancied going back to manual again for the fun aspect of driving a manual and all that haha

Exactly the same as me, loved every bit of DSG but fancied feeling like I'm actually driving the car again so went manual on the new one! hope i don't regret it.. i know i'll miss the exhaust farts from the gear changes though :|

That's interesting. Are exhaust farts/pops only audible in a DSG equipped model?
So when I've gone on about the lovely exhaust pops and others don't hear them . It's because I have the DSG model and others commenting they can't hear anything have the manual??
