As I'm sure nearly everyone here has been torn between the GTI or the Fiesta ST. I decided to go for the GTI! A friend of mine has an ST and i know it truly is a fantastic car, I just wanted that something a little different, less common and a more comfortable everyday drive. After selling my beloved 04" Nissan 350z after owning it for two years, which i had plenty of fun in, I wanted something unabused with 0 miles which I can truly call mine! Anyway for those interested here is my spec:

Flash Red / DSG box / Armrest / Airbag deactivation switch / Light&Sight / Convenience / Winter Pack / Aircon&Climate control / Carnet app / Sport Performance Kit / Cruise&Park pack / Carbon effect mirror caps.

I know there is a few options there people would never consider or DSG haters out there but hey... (I got most of them to cure my OCD from blank buttons on the center console  )

Just placed my order this afternoon so I will find out more info next week regarding order times and build slots and all that jazz...

So yes, pleased to meet y'all and look forward to disusing GTI's! Matt..
Welcome m8. Flash red. Nice choice [emoji1] [emoji106]

The only problem now is the 5 month wait it's going to take :( .

See that people are discussing the app link thing, it was after I had pretty much done the deal I noticed that the app link was missing off my order. I questioned it and the saleswoman was puzzled why it wasn't on her print out. However I have spec'd Discovery Navigation and I swear not long ago I read you can't have both? Anyway a bloke who worked in there basically said the £100 app connect isn't worth it. So my car prob won't have it but who knows!
5 months?! That's golf R waiting times!!!
Tell me about it and if only it was a Golf R!

The saleswoman who sold me the car said I'm not gonna lie to you it's going to be 5 months as there's no point me giving you false information and getting your hopes up. I think it's because mine is a 5 door and they are all built in South Africa.
I was under impression 5 Dr GTi are built in Spain and normal 5 doors S Africa

Ordered mine last Monday 5 door
Flashy red
Pano roof
Light n sight
Parking pack
Sport pack

Picking it up on Wednsday. Could been earlier but the car is down south. So had loads of sleepless nights lol just can't wait. For anyone trying to get immediate delivery just ask ur dealer to check UK ports stock. Wen I ordered mine there were like 6 over different ports available.

Maybe I was wrong about the GTI being built in South Africa then, I was going by what dealer told me but let's face it they don't always know everything!

Still got 5 months regardless of build location apparently.

I have gone for Flame Red with quite a lot of options and its DSG so perhaps that's why its a longer wait.

If you can be bothered to go through it quite a few of us have posted order date, options & collection date might give you a truer idea.

Pretty sure most people are told 4-5 months on ordering because they don't really have any idea. Have you got your tracking number?
