In a change of heart, it looks like the wife and I will not be purchasing new car's after all and will keep (and pay off) both my GTD and her Blue GT when the PCP is up later this year. Quite happy about it really as both of us love our cars and at 20k miles each, they are barely run in.
Anyway, enough drivel, my question is how easy is it, or has anyone ever fitted, an RNS-510 with DAB into a Polo 6R (circa 2013). I ask as my wife has an RNS-510 in hers but it's one of the very original Version "B" units (yes I know it should be in a museum), but it's been in 4 cars since I purchased it back in 2007. Trouble is it's now started playing up a bit and sometimes won't switch on for a good 5 minutes after starting the car, sometimes instantly and a few times never (meaning I've had to do a hard re-boot.). Not sure what's up with it, but due to it's age, I'm not sure if it's worth repairing or just replace ?
She really like the DAB function in my Golf and there's some stations there she listens to but obviously can't get on the RNS in the Polo. That's why I'm considering a DAB version, but I'm not sure what extra hardware (aerials etc.) are required and where they go / how hard they are to fit ?
