yeah but the new microphone piece that was recommended seems a bit big if I removed a bit from the loom, expect for this part I'm all wired and ready to go just plugging it in is the hard but

TPK of course has to come out if adding this microphone - thats the whole point. There'll be an inline loom that the TPK uses which has to come out
Can you post a pic of how the wiring on the rear of your unit and loom look

I would imagine you are taking the TPK out completely and just using the built in bluetooth? If so, remove the TPK entirely and the new microphone should plug in where the TPK was.

How do I remove it from the loom? and I'm just going to hide it as it seems a lot of effort to completely remove it and it doesn't do much harm

Re: RNS315 with bluetooth kit.
As you can see here:
The TPK kit uses an 'inline' add on loom. you need to find the other end, and unplug the car side quadlock from it, then plug that into the back of the radio directly with the new microphone plugged in

Re: RNS315 with bluetooth kit.
so basically that's just an extension lead (I'm trying to dumb it down) and then I can remove that and I'll have another quadlock (the lock clip from the back of the radio) to hook up?

Got most of it now Just a small blue wire and a small black one both very thin they go toward the steering wheel, ok it was the mic I think, but the new mic doesn't fit into the quadlock

That'll be an ignition live and the microphone wire

If it's the one I recommended that plugs into the back of the quad lock at the top right. Same position where the green plus was on the TPK loom
