Newbie- 04 plate 1.2 Polo SE- OIL LEAK!!

Hi all
We've just bought an 2004 108k miler 1.2 petrol SE for eldest son.
All well other than an oil leak-took to local garage and he whipped off the plastic engine cover. He said looks like the end of the engine block has been removed at some point as spotted sealant around the join of the end of the block and the main body. Quite a bit of oil remains present on the plastic under engine guard too.
We topped it up with oil and he reccommended jet washing (!) from above the guard and engine to see how much oil reappeared. Car seems a bit 'jumpy' when foot down in top gear, but suspect needs a service...
Also the washer bottle empties within minutes - found a loose joint in the engine bay nr the bulkhead that has been super glued back together to no avail....any ideas please folks?

Depends where the oil is coming from. Are you able to get some photos of the areas most oily?

As for jet washing - i wouldnt do that!

With regards to the washer bottle, the joint probably needs replacing - photo of the pipe if you can and ill tell you which joint youll need.
