0-62 acceleration Polo GTI
0-62 acceleration Polo GTI
Ok,
Now I know in the real world these things don't matter and its a bit of top trumps trivia but ...........most of the reviews I've read suggest that the official time of 6.7 sec could be conservative.
Have any of you done any official/unofficial runs and care to share the results?
I gather there are quite a few apps on the market that give quite accurate results.

Tidy
I'm changing from a 208 GTI (need extra doors - kids!) so it's good to know the acceleration won't disappoint and with the extra torque the in gear acceleration and real world performance will be slightly improved as well.

You will be very surprised at how quick it is especially the Manual [emoji6][emoji6]
Re: 0-62 acceleration Polo GTI
208 gti is it quick??
Re: 0-62 acceleration Polo GTI
To be fair the 208 has been a great car. It's just not practical enough with 2 kids hence the change to 4 door with similar performance.
Performance wise it's still puts s smile on my face. Never done a 0-62 timed but on paper I think it's 6.8 sec so pretty close to the Polo.
Think the extra 30 ft/lbs of torque should make the Polo feel a bit quicker in real world situations.

Tbh unless you're changing out of the 208 GTi by Peugeot Sport with the mechanical LSD then you won't notice any difference. They're identical performance wise but the Pug by PS has it in the corners. I think they were about even for the standard GTi but the Peugeot doesn't have a patch on the Polo for out and out compliance.Fox1429 wrote:To be fair the 208 has been a great car. Manual GTI is a little bit quicker than the DSG version. Below you have a comparison from the same yt channel:
DSG: 6.7s

Manual: 6.2s

DSG: 6.7s

Manual: 6.2s

Re: 0-62 acceleration Polo GTI
I'm sure you could trim the DSG time with the sport button pressed and rapid gear change. No sport button on the featured model.

In the real world you'd never know the difference.m0rrthal wrote:Manual GTI is a little bit quicker than the DSG version. Below you have a comparison from the same yt channel:

Manuals don't sound as good going up/down through the gears either.

Heel and toe. For the blip on manuals. I only get it right about 2 out of 4 times but for me at least part of the fun.

Re: 0-62 acceleration Polo GTI
I've done a few runs with my mates laptop plugged in on some roads in Bovintion. The best I got was 6.24 but my average worked out around 6.4. The laptop stared itself and stopped on 62 so it's pretty spot on. Did do it again last week in the wet and could only manage 6.6 as the wheel spin was too much. My GTI is standard in performance mods. Next time I'll get a screen shot or a vid if it helps.
