Hi , I was hoping you guys could help me out with a little engine issue I have with my polo. To cut the long story short my engine needs replacing , I have found an engine over eBay but the engine advertised has been taken out of a seat Ibiza , the engine codes are the same (CFWA) but the polo is 6R and the Ibiza which is advertised is 6J, iv been under the impression that it should be compatible as the codes are the same but I can't afford for there to be any difference as it's quite a bit of money. I apologise if I seem like I don't know what I'm talking about but hopefully you guys could clear it up for me.
Thank you !

If the code is the same, the engine is identical

FYI, the 6J Seat Ibiza is based upon the same platform, and uses many of the same parts, as the 6R Polo. The Audi A1 is the same. The Skoda Fabia is different, with the Mk.2 Fabia running on the same platform as the Mk.4 (9n/9n3) Polo, but still shares plenty with the Polo. The new Fabia is a mix of 6C Polo components and MQB platform components.
Finding parts from other VW group products can be a good way to save money or get extra features- eg Ciclo putting the BCM from a Transporter in his Polo in order to get auto-dipping headlamps.
