Dear all,
I have been having wiered behaviour with my dahboard. I turn the engine on, the lights of the dash baord goes off, other times it doesn't. I don't know if this is mainly a switch or something serious. I am thinking about opening the whole things up and checking behind it to see if there is some loose light bulbe etc.. but it could be something little bit more serious.
If its a swich it would have gone off completly and never come back again, or it could be something to do with the wiring, Any thoughs on this?
My car is a VW POLO 1.4 . 5 Doors 2003
Any thoughts on how to fix this will be very much appreciated... would be equally helpfull any articles or YouTube links and how to do this will come Handy.
Many thanks

A few of this series of polo seem to suffer with dry solder joints on the instrument cluster connector. This sounds like it could be the same issue
A couple of other members on here have had this issue - there should be a post with some photos somewhere

I was having a problem with an intermittent immobiliser light that drove me nuts. As alexperkins has said, resoldering the joints has completely cured the problem! My bet is that this is probably the cause of the problems with your Polo too. If you need any help with regards to the process of taking the cluster out and soldering, just drop me a message!
