Cost of Extended Warranty for 6R GTI ??

Post by Parker87 »

Hello.
I would be grateful if any of you who have received quotes for a VW Extended Warranty to cover a 1.4 GTI for a 4th (and 5th?) year would give me some idea of the amounts involved.
I have a '13 GTI which is covered by a Das Welt Auto arrangement until late 2017, but am wondering how much it might cost me to continue coverage beyond that. I appreciate that it's impossible to know what figures might apply that far ahead, but a rough idea of what people would pay now would be of great interest to me.
Thanks :)

Hello Alex. The mileage is currently 17400, and I'll be doing about 8k p.a.
Hope that helps.

I've paid £200 for the last 2 years on mine and had almost 15k in parts and labour well worth the money. Had a new engine block fitted November last year.

Wow, that's good value then! :)
If it's around £200 by the time I'm needing to get the Extended Warranty for mine, I'll be biting their hands off. My worry is that the fact that there seem to be a disproportionately large number of issues with the 1.4 GTI might cause VW to pump up the premiums :(
Thanks for your reply - much appreciated.
