Newbie! Paintwork question

Hi all!
I bought by very first VW last week a SE design polo, i unfortunately do not have a drive so have to park on the road not sure if I've had a paint scuff from a stone or from the little fiat 500 that was parked suspiciously close to me the other day but I have a few small scuffs on my rear bumper you cant see them from standing but i know they are there!
I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and found a good touch up paint? I've had a look for touch up paints etc online but really struggling to find any in my colour! Its mayan blue by the way! and the dealership randomly through in diamond brite on the car for free so that's on there too!

How deep are the scuff marks Emma?

If they're not deep enough to feel with your finger nail, then it should be possible to polish them out. You'll get the best results with a dual action or rotary machine polisher, if you know someone that has one, or if not a professional car detailer should be able to deal with them easily. If they're very slight, then it should be possible to polish them out by hand.

If they do 'catch' when you run a fingernail over them, then they probably will need to be painted. Touch up pencils are available from VW but depending on the extent of the scratches / scuffs you're dealing with, this might not be the best solution, as they're more suited to paint chips rather than scuffs. You could try something like a Chipex paint kit (http://www.chipex.co.uk). You give them your paint code and they'll mix the paint for you. The kits they sell include everything you need to do a pretty good job, Takes a bit of practice with the Chipex kit, but if you're not happy with the result, you can just clean the paint off you've applied with the blending solution they supply in the kit and start again. They've got videos on their website and on YouTube, that show you how to use the kits.

VW will be able to sell you aerosol cans of Mayan blue paint if you're struggling. The Holts minimix range also makes colour to match, you just have to be careful with those made in store as I've seen different people make the same paint and it comes out completely different! If it's that new a car I'd be tempted to buy the paint from VW.

Just make sure you find out what primer and lacquer you need as cellulose and acrylic paints aren't compatible (for example). Again, it depends on the depth of the scuffs as SRGTD said as they may polish out.

For something that small I'd get a professional to come out and sort it (Chips Away or similar) or just leave it as you will get more unfortunately. There're too many cars and too many bad drivers now

I would only ever use genuine VW touch up sticks and spray cans where necessary. Getting a colour match is very difficult otherwise
