I've got a Polo GTI 6R and looking to change the headlight to a LED one, or the same one as the new GTI 6c has got. I've looked EVERYWHERE online for this, and just wondering if this is possible??
I'm not sure yet about the BCM change, whether it's really needed. If you have xenon now, maybe it will work without change. If you have halogen headlights now, for sure you need a BCM change.
Is changing the BCM a big job? Are there any instructions on this forum? Like has anyone done it on this and posted a step by step? And just to confirm if i change the bcm will i be able to fit the same headlight as the new polo 6c has??
Those are Halogen headlights. Changing them to LED is possible but it will involve a lot of wiring for the headlight range regulation, and running the lights for low beam, parking lights and DRL to and from the BCM
Ahhh right okay! In that case I think i'll leave it, sounds too complicated for me, I dont want to start something and finding out half way throught that I dont know what I'm doing! Haha!
As iichel says. the light will never be good because the dishes in your headlight is designed formthe light outputfrom a halogen bulb that emits light all the way around and not an LED bulb which only emits light from a few fixed points.
What about changing from the halogen to the bi xenon LED DRL then? Is that just a swap? Or is there a lot of wiring and do I have to change the BCM etc with that aswel??
