Hi,
I've got a 1.2 Moda 5dr, over the past few weeks I have noticed the engine has been acting odd. I have had a service and the car passed the MoT on Thursday last week, however my engine management light and traction control light still remains on. I was advised by the garage in which the MoT was passed that I needed to go and see a VW garage or specialist, but the car would run fine for a month at least!
Last night I went to pull off the drive and noticed the car cut out as soon as I started the engine. I then started with success, however a strange noise was coming out from the car(assuming it's the engine)
nevertheless I managed to pull off the drive. After about 20 seconds I couldn't get over 10mph and the car stalled. I restarted the engine and exactly the same issue occured with the car cutting out and even with my foot to the floor, the car wouldn't gain power and it still was making a very odd noise.
I now can't drive the car at all and didn't know whether anyone has any advise/experienced anything similar to this
All comments welcomed:)

Your garage should have been able to at least get the codes read off if the lights were on. You don't need special VW diagnostics tools for this- it's been a generic OBD2 standard since 2000 I think (and many cars even earlier).
You'll need to get those codes read off at any rate, and if you can't drive it, maybe see if you can borrow a code reader off anyone you know who's into cars. If not you may need to get the car recovered to a garage, or to buy a code reader yourself. They're not much on Amazon or eBay, and you can even get Bluetooth ones that connect to your phone.
I think the Modas were petrols? The 1.2 3-cyl? Certainly, using 'Moda' as a keyword on Autotrader only brings back petrols!
