It will Work. I did more or less the same mod in my Blue GT using this kit:

A bit more expensive though.
But you must be sure to buy the right USB port from VW. There are plenty to choose from for the Polo. You should have the one with a green connector. I think it is this one: 6C0035249B. But check it out.

Yes, I've noticed, there are quite a few! Yeah, I found that package too, though it is a bit pricey.

Been trying to find the correct design on the USB port with the green connector, but it seems to be rare - do you know what the difference is really between the white and the green connector? As I have already ordered one with the white connector, I may have to open it up after all and switch the inner parts. ^^

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing good. Thought I'd update you with some pics on what I've installed so far. Basic stuff but it has made a huge difference in the feeling of the car to me.

The RCD510 is working great! Phonebook is as it should be and all functions are good. It's quite fast and responsive and has enhanced the interior look of the car a lot. Easy to install, plug and play like everyone said!

I love the fact that I don't have to switch the lights on/off manually now. And the nagging sound when exiting the car if the lights are still on is finally gone. The installation was also quite easy.

This arm rest is awesome. The comfort of driving the Polo now is just great. However it did leave my fingers aching as the installation was rather troublesome. It was straightforward but took a while to get all pieces under the center trimming without breaking anything.

Now I'm waiting for the side mirror switch and the parts for the USB input. I am a little confused as to how I should remove the plastic trims to install the mentioned parts, does anyone have some advice?
