This might already be common knowledge, but it surprised me...
I have a 6c Gti, without auto wipers. In the rain this morning, my wipers were set to continuous slow. But when I stopped at some lights they switched to intermittent! And back to continuous when I started off again.
Surprise and delight, as they say in advertising...

The polo (and other VW'es) has a speed-dependent system. Can be coded on and off by using VCDS

Reversing with the front wipers on engages the rear wiper too
