Cannot remove window motor connector

Post by peajay »

I have the common problem of strange uncommanded window opening that may be related to chafing of the electrical leads in the harness where it goes through the door. I am working on the driver side but I am stuck at the point of getting the harness through the door frame because I canot get the electrical connector off the window motor. It seems to be extremely tight and I am about to mutilate it to get it off - any advice ?

It releases on a tab. It's very stiff usually. It's
Easiest to remove the three bolts that hold the motor assembly in and drop it down so you can access the wiring easier

Thanks for the advice I managed to get it removed by braking off the sides of the connector.
