Best Tyres for GTI 6R

Post by Xeon5 »

Hi all,

Does anyone have any recommendations for good tyres on the GTI 6R?

I have the contiential sport maxx which is starting to wear and cause steering issues (pull to the left, twitching on road, etc)

Zero experience, but looking in to Federal 595's, cheap wide R tyre...

Maybe worth a look?

I had those RSR's on my old Clio 172, amazing tyres but got to go gentle in the wet

Thanks for all your feedback guys.

After much research I have decided to go with the Uniroyal RainSport 3 which my father also has on his Zafira.

The car feels much better to drive already!

When they were fitting the tyres they found a load of crap stuck between the calipers and brake pads/discs which may have been causing me issues so they cleaned them out for me. Also they said that the pads and discs will need replacing in a few months, time to invest in some decent EBC brakes! :)

Looking at the discs at the top of the page, which are the ones to go for the MTEC874 or 875?
