2010 6R common faults *Urgent*
Hi all,
I'm about to buy a 2010 Polo S 1.2. It's done 64,000 miles and I'm going to get it at a good price (Hopefully
) I've just run a HPI and finance check which has all gone through fine. I just need to check that the Vin number matches that of the HPI check. I just thought I'd ask on here what some common faults are or what to look out for. The last thing i want is to find that the car is littered with faults that I didn't know about. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Re: Buying a 2010 Polo 6R.
is it the 1.2 N/A petrol engine or the 1.2TSI or the 1.2TDI engine?

Re: Buying a 2010 Polo 6R.
Apologies if I wasn't specific enough. It is the 60hp petrol variant of the Polo. I just called the seller and I was told that the car revs when in 1st gear, he said that because it's a 3 cylinder all Polo's tend to do this but I'm sceptical. Any feedback would be very helpful. Thanks

The 1.2 N/A should sit and idle with no obvious revving unless its running on cold start warm up by the ECU which at this time of the year isn't going to happen. I use to have a Polo 9N that had the 1.2L 3 cylinder. It's a bit of a noisy engine and a bit underpowered, it should sound like a sewing machine but quite a balanced engine that is easy to drive.

Re: Buying a 2010 Polo 6R.
Hi guys,
I'm just about to go and view another Polo today and I think this might just be the one. It's a 1.2 s with 60BHP. Any kinda common problems I should know about. The seller told me that the passenger window motor is broken and I have accounted for that. Any help would be really really appreciated as I'm going in about 2 hours (I left asking a bit late, my bad)
Thanks
