Servicing questions

Post by Robby71 »

I've been offered 2 free services on my new (used) car if i buy it on the VW finance. I can pay the finance off after 1 month (1 payment taken) and still keep the free services though but it seems a bit of a hassle as i probably wont keep the car 2 years and the services aren't transferable to new owner.

What exactly does the 2nd and 3rd service include on the Polo GT (2015my) and roughly what does each service cost?

Cheers

You can pay the finance off before the car has left the showroom! I did and paid £3 quid interest!!! You can still keep your free services.

The dealer said i'd need to finance at least £5k to get the offer - i'll probably drive it home then pay it off, not sure what charges they'll add (dealer said £20?) but guess they can't add any/ much interest?

does the dealer give you vouchers for the services or are they registered with VW so any dealer can look them up on the system when you book a service?

I think that you tend to find that what starts off as "VW 2 year service plan" - does in lots of cases end up being "that dealer" or "that dealer group only" service plan, so maybe check before handing it into another VW dealer. Essentially you get signed up so that they can retain your business, which is okay if that dealer is local to you and is the one you would normally plan to use.

I did ask if it was valid at any VW dealership and he said it was - didn't fancy a 7 hour round trip for servicing

Was bad enough driving these to look at the car, most of the day and numerous speed cameras passed (hope i didn't get caught  )

Saw on the VW site a 2nd service is £369  what does that include? seems a good deal getting the 2 free services (1 major + 1 minor)
