Hi,
I'm unsure if this is the right area. I have a 2016 Polo R Line.
I'm wondering if it's possible to illuminate the dashboard without turning the headlights on - I've noticed whilst driving in the morning it can be difficult to see the dials but it's not dark enough for the main headlights. Can anyone tell me if this is possible to do?
Thanks

I'm not sure it's possible but on the other hand, why not make it a habit to have the lights on always?

The dim instrument illumination is an indication that the lighting conditions aren't that good, so prompting you to turn on your headlights.
Better to put your lights on so you can be seen by others, even if you feel it's not dark enough to have your headlights on.

I think that I made a similar reply to someone on the SEAT forum that was having a similar "problem" - he did not come back and confirm that he was driving using DRLs only with auto off!SRGTD wrote:The dim instrument illumination is an indication that the lighting conditions aren't that good, so prompting you to turn on your headlights.

Let's just get on thing completly straight... IF the light in the dials is to low for you to see... Then IT IS dark enough to put the main headlights on. End of story.Marlot wrote:I've noticed whilst driving in the morning it can be difficult to see the dials but it's not dark enough for the main headlights.
That's how it is on cars with automatic headlights that turn on by them self. You have just invented a set of rules for your self and now you want the option to code your way out of it.

Whoops, I think that he might have gone - surely not, we are normally a friendly bunch - (as long as sensible questions are asked)!
