Bluetooth no Audio

Just bought a 2012 Polo for my wife and when we got it home last night tried to set-up the Bluetooth to her Samsung Galaxy S6. Managed to get it connected but the problem we are having is that it makes and receives calls but there is no sound coming through the speakers. If I put the volume up full I can hear the 'shussing' background noise but cannot hear the phone ringing. Once I disconnect the call the 'shussing' goes away so I know the phone is connecting.

Before I take it back to the garage I bought it from is there anything I might be doing wrong? Has anyone experienced this before? Any help greatly appreciated.

A wee update - I am able to hear her during a call but she cannot hear me so it must be something to do with the volume or audio in the car itself as the unit seems to work OK.

So why is it there then apart from making and receiving phone calls using bluetooth? I am sure that the people before we owned it used it for making calls as when we got it it was searching for a Sony phone.

I am not wanting or trying to play music through it.
