Yeh I get that, also my revs fluctuate sometimes at idle.
I got a bmc filter with cold ram air feed, supersprint 421 manifold, full s/s exhaust and decat.
Can i ask where you got your manifold as im having trouble sourcing one for my 1.4 8v
cheers

Had a golf mkv all over my tail in Birmingham last night on a dual (duel?!
) carriageway and when the lane cleared I floored it and he couldn't get past at all - even when he tried to move to the inside lane to undertake,
in fact he was falling behind after I got up to 5500 rpm
wonder what it was - fully kitted with the fogs, xenons etc

A mk5? The latest shape....Didnt think they had any fast models out yet.
If it was the mk4
Standard 1.8T maybe but probably something like a 130 diesel if it was keeping up but you were beating him.
Maybe even a modified 2.0 8v Gti...

you guys should be able to beat
-VTR's
-zetec s's
-most 1.4's
What you won't beat is
-VTS's
-106 GTI's (had a race against one, it wasted me!!!!
)
-Willams clio (there about the same as the Polo GTI's)
-Polo GTI's ha ha ha!
(only joking)
If it was a MK5 golf TDI, you would have no chance on the motorway! they have loads more torque!! (sorry about the spelling!)

dont reckon the 16v would have a hope either, i mean you used to own one didnt you dubpolo? and you wouldnt buy a slower car that'd just be daft. i'm still up for a go though! (its all down to driver skill after all
)
