Yes, as you have a 6R Polo, Carista has been available for customising that model for quite a long time, it is only now that 6C Polo has been added for customisation.

Make sure that you check a few other maybe VAG car forums to find out which OBD2 adaptor you can use with your mobile phone (http://www.briskoda.net and http://www.seatcupra.net) - I think that both of them have a dedicated Carista forum area, and buying cheaper adaptors is discussed a lot.

I went for an easy and predictable life and just bought the Carista OBD2 adaptor over a year ago.

Edit:- remember that it will also read fault codes in all that car's controllers as well.
