Replacing headlight motor

Post by mrnab »

Hi,

I just bought a mark V polo (year 2000) headlight for my car as the beam adjustment screws on my old one had broke (...don't ask..)

The new light, however, comes without a beam adjustment motor but has the wires for the motor. I am currently trying to transfer my the motor from my old headlight to this new one but am having great difficulty fitting it in.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Any help much appreciated!

iirc it just pulls out but there might be some form of clips.
the easiect way to get the end of the shaft out of the reflector is to puch on the normal headlight bulb mounting face and it will snap out

Thanks, but getting it out was not a problem - I'm having difficulty getting the new motor into the mounting clip on the reflector - the clip doesn't seem to come up enough for the motor shaft to clip in place. I don't wanna fiddle around with the adjustment screws too much as that's how they broke last time....
