The sport button alters the ECU parameters and the suspension settings. The OEM suspension struts (if they can be fitted) are about £250 each. First thoughts are you would also need to change the ECU and get a suspension controller. A much cheaper option would be lowered suspension and stage 1 tuning instead.

Regards to this, I ordered a standard Gti and I am regretting not adding the sport pack as the little vent where the sport button would be is ugly, does anyone know if I can source plain buttons to cover this? And how to install?

It can be done; forum member Norbreck21a fitted a blank Sport button in his Blue GT. Link to the discussion thread below that has a photo of the blank Sport button fitted (10th photo);Pologti17 wrote:Regards to this, I ordered a standard Gti and I am regretting not adding the sport pack as the little vent where the sport button would be is ugly, does anyone know if I can source plain buttons to cover this? The little vent slots are actually intended to hold credit card sized cards such as cards to activate works car park entry barriers. If you have any of the parking sensor, heated seats or Sport select suspension options, you don't get the slots; you get buttons/blanks instead. Sorry, don't know how easy it would be to install.

Re: POLO BlueGT 6C 2016 "Retrofit SPORT SELECT MODE" button ?
İn turkey there is no options to buy the sport select Germany doesn't give it to us [emoji23] it is maybe possible just for the gas reaction and the steering wheel I don't want it for the suspension like the seat Leon FR models there is the mode button just for this both not the suspension . I open the vcds option for the suspension yes I get an error but if it would be possible to retrofit it and just for this 2 option would it be possible ?

I'm pretty sure the sport-select button directly connects to the dynamic chassis control module.
So I guess, to have the sport mode, you'll also need the adaptive suspension
