Hey,
I want to get a new set of wheels for my GTI and if its possible I want them to be staggered. The wheels im looking at is 17" with 7,5" widht in the front, and 8,5" widht in the rear. Offset is 40. Is there more room in the rear on the polo so this would be possible?
Cheers!
Possible with staggered wheels?

Re: Possible with staggered wheels?
A front wheel drive car with bigger wheels on the back than the front? That will make the handling interesting and give traffic police or insurance assessors something to think about. If you decide to go ahead and there is sufficient clearance you will need to consider the need for suspension geometry modifications and alterations to brake balance.
I know it looks different and is redolent of RWD muscle cars but I'd advise caution followed by a chat with an experienced GTi engineer specializing in modifications. There is a very real risk that your modified car will not be road legal.
Sorry if I seem like a wet blanket, I've made all the classic mistakes and cock ups over the years and suffered the consequences, I hate to think of other enthusiasts having to do the same.
