Polo 6R Airbag Deactivation

Post by habib_123 »

Hi,

I didn't know where to post this, so I thought I might as well start a new thread. I wish to do this mod and need feedback of whoever has done it. I have re-created Ciclo's guide on it and made modifications in the document for whoever is interested. But I wish to know could I use a used airbag controller or does it have to be new?

The one which is needed is:
Image

6R0959655K 028 (PR-4UF+9P0)
6R0959655K 029 (PR-4UF+9P1)
6R0959655K 01N (PR-4UF+9P3)

The one I have which is installed in the car is:

6R0959655K 027 (PR-4UE+9P3)

Link for install document:

I would really appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

Hi habib_123 (this is the perfect place to post it  )

I do not know if currently you need to change the Airbag control unit, my current VCDS offers the possibility to adapt the Airbag unit via 'Adaptation', but I yet have not tried it (with my original unit, I think it's stored in some box in the garage :) ).

In case you need to change the Airbag unit from --- 6R0959655K 027 (PR-4UE+9P3) --- to --- 6R0959655K 01N (PR-4UF+9P3) --- it is recommended that it be a new unit. (yes I know, maybe it's too much money a new one)

Info:

I am not able to find an Autoscan (online, etc...) with Component: VW10Airbag01N (which is for RHD) to know the exact coding. :?

Hey Ciclo,

What do you think of my guide? Is it certified by you?

I have tried changing using the adaptation, please see photos (VCDS v.17.1.2) ... It does not allow me to change it. Each time I change it from "Airbag deactivation key switch not parameterized" to "Airbag deactivation key installed" it accepts it, reads the channel again and it automatically changes to "Airbag deactivation key switch not parameterized"

I have also attached photos of my error codes...any tips?

Tips? Yes, easy, you must first make the electrical installation and then test the coding/adaptation. (logically...)

VCDS
Need the coding for the 01N airbag unit, ask here in the forum. RHD/4 doors/Switch P.Airbag deactivation.

You do not lose anything by trying it with your current unit. If you are not lucky will have to buy the Airbag unit 01N.

Ok. One of the error codes say that I used the wrong module. I think it may be the actual switch for deactivation. It was previously used for a AUDI A4. Do I have to go into the dealership and buy a genuine one for my car?

I just purchased a used one from eBay.

Thanks

***edit***

whoever lives in UK or has RHD with Passenger Airbag Deactivation, could you please post your auto-scan for module 15-Airbags.

Thank You

I have done the wiring on the airbag deactivation, however I still get these error codes:

I haven't changed the airbag module yet, as I want to see if I can do this without it.

Also, could anyone tell me which connector you need to connect a wire to the small fuses. I have this one (000979133E) however it is the wrong one.
