Help needed 17564 fault code

Post by Daz36 »

Hi everyone
I hope someone can help me out.
I have a 1.2 3 cylinder Polo
On my way home tonight i hit a couple of puddles and about 1 mins later the engine just cut out. It started straight away and then about a minute later it did the same thing, but this time wouldn't start. I got it towed home by my son.
I have plugged it into VCDS and it shows:
17564 - manifold Pressure sensor (G71)
P1156 - 007 - Open/Short to Ground

Can anyone tell me where the sensor is located?

Thanks in advance.

That sounds a bit weird, as per that diagram, if you look down at the RHS of the inlet manifold, you will find it, it will be fixed on using a couple of Torx screws.

I'd suspect that this is a "red herring" and that something else is wrong - but I can't say what! (sorry) Edit:- unless its plug has fallen off/out?

I am meaning RHS of car, ie driver's side in UK.

Edit:- maybe check the static timing.
