Re: BlueGT engine noise
My daughter has a Leon with cylinder deactivation but the noise is no different from 'normal' engines. By the way - good deals on very low mileage high spec 2016 Leons at the moment as the newer 2017 version is out. The Cupra is a hoot!!

Re: BlueGT engine noise
You should ask to hear another GT to make sure it also makes the same noise if it is 'normal'...plumpton wrote:Question for other 6R BlueGT owners out there...
My GT makes an unusual ticking noise when the engine us running. The VW mechanic said it was normal and related to the cylinder deactivation technology built in to the engine. Is this the case? Its like a fast clicking noise similar to a noise a bike wheel would make when something was touching the spokes...

Mine doesn't make such noises neither did the demonstrator. I think you are being fobbed off.

Re: BlueGT engine noise
Mine came with the open all doors feature pre programmed although I understand that is highly unusual.
I reprogrammed back to standard single pip opening just the drivers door which struck me as being a lot safer if you have to park in dodgy areas.
In standard format one pip drivers door, second pip all doors. Handy as the first pip doesn't open the tailgate exposing what ever I have stashed in the boot.
Perhaps I'm paranoid.

Re: BlueGT engine noise
Sorry, just another comment on that "off topic" bit, my 2000 Passat came with single plip opened all the doors, wife's 2003 Polo came with needing two plips to open all the doors, I thought about changing the Polo but left it, again for security, my 2011 S4 came with single plip, my wife's 2015 Polo came with single plip - and so far I've left it way - but both our current cars have auto locking enabled, so security is okay.
Okay, back to normal!
