Armrest fitting

Post by samehtolba »

Hello
I have a 6R 1.4 and no armrest, is it possible to retrofit an armrest? Any recommendations for a store?

Perfectly possible - I've done it my self.

All you need is (if I can remember correctly) a 10mm spanner and a prying tool. Be aware that you have to unfasten most of the centre console to be able to lift the trim to slot in the support frame for the armrest. It bolts onto 4 holes that are already there under the rear cup holder.

I bought mine from Aliexpress. The listing says OEM from VW Shanghai (don't know whether to believe it) but the quality is very good. I chose the fabric top which matches my interior perfectly.
