Polo 2011 DSG failure

Hi, my Polo 1.4 Petrol DSG 2011 transmission failed; while parking after few miles on main road would not engage Reverse gear. Soon after D also stopped working. The issue is very similar to this in

Anyone knows 1) What DSG model fitted (Dry/Wet?) 2) What Oil synthetic/mineral ? 3) What is the likely fault Mechatronic unit or else? 4) Car 6 years old worth about £ 5.5K; should I bother repair it at all, and spare myself risk of repair not being effective? 6) What should be my course of action/repair? 7) Is the DSG design issue fixed / new DSG kit available for Polo 2011 or nothing new at all (hence high risk of more failures?)

i know your car is out of warranty but i'd still be calling vw uk and kicking up a fuss

i'm sure there are no user replaceable parts inside the dsg box they fit to the polos and thus should last the life of the car.
