Can it be done?

Post by italvisions »

My 6n Polo currently has manual locking door (base-o-matic 'L' spec strikes again...) and I want to upgrade then to central locking. A mate of mine wanted to do this on his Ford Fiesta  but apparently it couldn't be done. Anyone know if it can be done on the Polo?

yeah you can buy remote central locking kits for about £20 on ebay. or about £25-£30 from places like Big-Boys-Toys who advertise in PVW.

Fitting isn't hard, just bolt a motor in each door which couples upto the metal rod that connects to the door pin. Then wires come from these to a receiver/control unit which normally goes in the dash board somewhere, connect power up to this & that's it. Don't see why you couldn't do it to a Fiesta!

The 'know-it-all's' down at R-tec said it couldn't be done, much like they said that refurbing polished wheels couldn't be done!
