Bit off topic but help

I'm sorry this is off topic but to be honest the Polo forum is the best with electronics, was retrofitting a multi function steering wheel, and swapped out the control module, now the car won't start and all the electronics are acting weird eg turning on and off very quickly as if the power keeps cutting and turning on.

Anyone have any advice? I tried refitting the original steering control but no luck. I think it's a blown fuse but can see any it's a mk5 golf

It is I'm going back down to work on it later on, few of us seem to think it's flat battery since i haven't driven it in months

Update;

Got sorted, it was a completely flat battery been charging for nearly 24 hours and it's still not over 50% :oops: :oops:

Maybe try sorting out that battery using a smart charger that can help reverse/reduce the damage already done with leaving it for too long without charge. Sulphating can be an issue which leads to cells partially staying shorted out, also there is the issue with the electrolyte staying stratified ie it needs to be over charged in a controlled manner to encourage the remixing of the electrolyte. Just continuing to use the car normally will not revive that battery completely. CTEK sell a few suitable smart chargers. I keep my little used S4 connected to one and its AGM battery keeps in very good condition - so far!

Was going to say, my eddy did the same thing and had to have a new battery

That battery doesn't sound very healthy. Maybe time for a new one

Thanks for the knowledge and I've had bad experience with CTEK chargers I'm using Tecmate now highly recommend. I'll leave it on the charge for a few days try and get it to 'heal' itself.

So do I luckily it's still under VW warranty :D :D
