Hi,
I've just bought my first car and I wanted to get a radio compatible with my iPhone so I bought the pioneer sph-da120 and I was wondering if someone could give me a few pointers to fitting it...
It has all the original cables however I was wondering if I will need a different adapter because I have the rcd210 currently fitted in my car which means it has a quad lock adapter... also I read about a radio adapter? any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rohan
You'll need a fitting kit which will have a surround to adapt from the custom VW radio shape to standard double din, a quadlock to ISO adapter (which will need tapping into an ignition live unless you get an intelligent one) and an aerial adapter lead to go from fakra to the banana style connector

Do you have any links to products because there are thousands and I have no idea which ones to get..
Thank you again
You'll need to connect the red wire to an ignition live, the orange wire to an illumination cable (grey with blue stripe) and the aerial amp wire into the pioneer aerial wire on the loom

I'm such a newbie So I really appreciate all the help. How do I know this will fit my vehicle since it's says it's for a VW golf rather than a VW polo?

Thank you again
It came with this cable but I simple assumed it would not fit a VW as I have an rcd210 which has a quad lock on it..
Am I wrong in thinking that or do I definitley need a new adapter?
alexperkins wrote:One more question - do you have steering wheel buttons?
Ok thank you. I'll buy the kit now and should be with me for Friday so I'll try fitting it on the weekend.
I don't unfortunately but I'm hoping to get around to retrofitting the multifunction wheel in the future depending how this goes.

Is this kit going to work as well because it comes with faster delivery?
Sorry for the barrage of questions I don't have a clue what I'm doing [emoji23]
Thanks again
This requires no extra wiring changes and includes the adapter to make the steering wheel work with the radio
I've just had a look online and it'd probably cost around £400 to get a multifunction steering wheel so I'm not sure how far into the future this mod will be....
