At a quick glance. It's a coding problem, I'll tell you the BCM coding tomorrow.
Thanks Ciclo, appreciated.
This BCM coding should solve the problem (and more things) of DRL's and Parking / Side lights (led module) if everything is properly wired. Copy from here and paste it.

B8A020380E212021002800913C2B84505200660F60051040300000020000

It is a first BCM coding, it may be necessary to recode again once you report the results.

I need (to know):
Model Year. (tenth digit of VIN)
The first Autoscan you made to your T5 (the oldest you have). Search in logs folder VCDS program.

Another question because you modified BCM coding. (Logically)
Do you have front fog lights installed?

Hi Ciclo

I'll try the coding when I return home from work later

The model year is 09 (first of the 5.1/GP's, registered in 2010)

Not sure I can provide the oldest scan, this was back in 2015 on a laptop that's now replaced- This was when the 086 BCM was in place, is there anything particular you'd like to know?

I haven't yet fitted fog lights, on the very long list of things to do

Thanks again for your help and PM, apologies I've not been granted rights to PM so can't reply yet.

Ok, ok, no problem, 2010, 086BCM, no fogs, that's enough for me.

We wait for the results here in my topic, do not hurry, check all lights one by one.

I've used the coding provided with the following results:

LED's continue not to work but do have the top half now flashing once on ignition.

T73b/5&6 have batt voltage with ignition on, this drops to circs 3.5v when the light switch is turned to side light and dipped beam- assume this is the PWM? it differs from previous, the pins had circa .8v measured when connected to T14.

Lamp indicator is lit when light switch is positioned to side lights

Everything else appears to work as before, eg fine- Although continue to wonder what the side light position is supposed to function on Bi Xenons, T10/10 which is believe to be the side lights isn't connected to T14

Updated scan below, if it helps I don't yet have auto lights or the dimmer switch installed.

The error in the BCM and climatronic are maybe related to the missing button backlight signal. Do your buttons in the interior have illumination (i.e. elec window switches) when the parking lights are on?

In the Polo 6R, we run a wire from T73b/4 to the dimmer. In your case to T6/3 on the dimmer.
But in Elsawin, it shows that it is maybe already there. It could run rom T73b/1 or T73b/4. But ciclo probably knows better.

The coding for the xenon/LED, I'm not sure what goes wrong. Around 7V for PWM to T14/12 is what I remember from the bi-xenon LEDs.

Hi

I've probably made a mistake in not providing the detail around the actual light switch/dimmer/auto lights, apologies if this is/has caused confusion, as I have the correct presentation to the original T10 to the original lights I didn't think this would be relevant.

When I installed the 090 BCM I did this without replacing the original light switch which has a T17 connector without the auto light/front fogs functions- This is on my list of things to do once I install front fogs and RLS.

I used Elsa and Cilco's guide to get the correct feeds to the BCM to operate all lighting, when required using new outputs from the BCM to fuse boards to feed DRL's, dipped beam etc including reverse light. This set up has worked fine, no fault codes, warning lamps etc.

This set doesn't have the interior dimmer control, so not surprised by the fault codes now reporting.

I did record everything I did but due to the laptop issue haven't got the file- If needed I can audit and provide detail of how T17 feeds the BCM, the BCM to the lights.

Thanks guys, really do appreciate all the support.

This coding solves those errors --> BCM Byte21 Bit1 enabled

so, B8A020380E212021002800913C2B84505200660F60071040300000020000

Or Byte23 Bit0 enabled if T73b/1 BCM<-->T6/3 Dimmer, it does not appear to be in this way connected, but it is the right way for his BCM Max.

I've used the coding provided with the following results:
...
...
Thanks again

Please, do  this and upload the csv file to a server so I can check.

---

I'm afraid some signals from the light switch and Dimmer to the BCM conectors are not well connected.

Check

Light Switch:
DRLs signal = from T17/3 or T10/9 to T73b/29
Side/parking lights signal = from T17/16 or T10/3 to T73a/45 (a single 0,5mm wire)
T17/17 or T10/10 is the input signal (58d from T6/5 Dimmer) for backlighting of light switch.
Dimmer:
T73b/1 to T6/3 (as mentioned)

With BCM Max and Bixenon headlights the electrical installation (wires) of the rear side/parking lights is separated from the front side/parking lights. This is mandatory due to the led module.

Rear:
T73a/ 40.41 (already connected this way from the factory)
Front
T73b/ 5,6

I know it's difficult, but make a scheme of the changes you did in your electrical installation. I think it will be the easiest way to solve this. It's very easy for me.

quote="Dave v": Lamp indicator is lit when light switch is positioned to side lights. :)
Check the T10-T14 harness, something is wrong here.
