It doesn't really matter where the air intake is once the air gets under the bonnet it does not automatically head for your intake.
It does look snazzy though although you will only be able to see that with the bonnet open.
Sorry to be negative but if it's what you wanted and it makes you happy that's job done.
The feed is located at the old air duct box, where air was previously drawn from. I opened up the duct and removed the back so it flows forward as shown. The air is gonna be as cold as it can be as it's coming straight out of the duct. The intake is just at an angle atm, might rotate it a bit more in future
