Polo 1.0tsi 110

Post by 110tsipolo »

Recently bought the new 1.0tsi (turbo) polo r line I know these are pretty wound up little engines standard but just wondering how long it would take for things like air filters, blow off valves ect things like that will start being developed to buy in the Uk?

Unfortunately I'd expect that following the VAG emissions "problem", the European periodic car testing will be revised a lot and that will quieten down the market for "car tuning" as the car will no longer manage to achieve its original emissions levels, okay for mods that improve efficiency and better more expensive parts being fitted there might be still some scope, but will these few companies bother with the risks new MOT testing should bring.

I hope that things work out okay for these engines, I deliberately got in at the end of the order book for a 1.2TSI 110 as I did not feel that VAG would completed all the long term testing of these engines before signing them off for production, and I did not intend to be a guinea pig. These engines might end up being the best so far from VW, remembering that Skoda build all the 1.2TSI engines.

I think there could be so much potential from these engines!! I thought this emissions cheat was for derv engines only!?

You are correct wrt VW's problems at the moment, but now that it has been discovered that some cars are not complying with what they are being sold to, the whole method of testing all types of internal combustion vehicles will be altered to avoid this being considered as a smart way of doing things going forward.

As for these 1.0 3 cylinder engines, maybe consider what the average service lifetime of the Smart car engine is, makes me think that these engines pushing that power while being very "effective" current emissions wise - which is mainly why they have appeared in the market place, might just cost a bit long term, but there again that is good for the economy - just a bit sore on the wallet of the longer term user.

Email forge Motorsport they will no doubt have a dump valve in the works at some point. Air filter, if your after a panel filter k&n or piper cross will have one more than likely at some point. With the engine being pretty new will be a bit of a wait. Exhaust would be custom job if your looking down that route and I'm sure revo are most likely already looking into remap options

I didn't think that there was any point in fitting a "Dump valve" to the TSI. I thought it was one of the first cars to use an electronic valve on the turbo waste gate so it doesn't depend on turbo/engine pressure to open and close?? It can be fully open or closed as required, so excessive back pressure is already "dumped"

Anyone know if there's exhaust systems out for the polo 6r 1.0 tsi R-line. I just feel it's lacking sound
