VagCom

Post by jakecassidy92 »

Hello someone out across today something about a VagCom I think it was. This is something where you can add little touches to your car like dials do the check around when ignition is switched on and also coming home lights. Has anyone done this to theirs or know if this is something that even exists?

hi - yes, with vagcom you can do little tweaks like that provided your car allows it.

If you are not planning to do much in the way of fault finding, instead of buying a scammed copy of VAG-COM - and they will be scammed/cloned/illegal copies as VAG-COM evolved into VCDS many years ago, why not look up Carista as it is a lot easier to use if you are not too technically competent - and a lot cheaper than a legal copy of VCDS.
BTW, I have been an owner/user of VAG-COM > now updated to VCDS and it is very handy for lots of things, though I also own Carista just to carry in the car as a first point to help diagnose problems, but it is also very handy for changing things.

Is this easy to do? And I'm not really into all the technical side of it and where can I get it done? Will it mess up the car?

Carista does seem to be aimed at the "lower" end, technically speaking people, so it is all "select" and make the change with "one click"!

VCDS works well, but you should really know what you are doing before committing to making any changes most or all will not be "select" and "one click".

Edit:- you should look up Carista and check what it can do for your car before committing yourself.

So there's no where really you can take it for them to do it for a fee?
I will check out Carista now and see what tweeks I can do before hand.

Maybe try asking on this forum to see if anyone near you has Carista and is willing, at a price, to make some changes to your car's settings?
