Help needed fitting Pioneer headunit

Post by Shuaib17 »

Hi

I need some help. I got a pioneer avh-x7800bt. I want to fit it into my polo. It's a 2011 bluemotion.

Fitting wise it's not a straight fit as it's a single din unit. And the car is double din
I've read that you need different adapters for the wiring.

Where can I get the correct fitting units and wiring. Or what what I need to get it done

How easy is it to do?

Apologies for all the questions.

Thanks.

Welcome

Good choice of headunit

You’ll need a quad lock to ISo adapter along with a fakra aerial adapter to the pioneer cable

You’ll also need a fascia adapter to mount it into

Have you got steering wheel buttons?

Hi

Would anyone be able to provide me with the correct fascia. I've seen many on eBay but I can't confidently identify correct one. I'm after one which I can fit the unit onto the bottom tray. Are the pockets removable as most I find are on bottom where I would like headunit to go.

The quad lock I got one it came from a bmw. Would I need a specific vw one? I connected it all up and it worked fine. Everything was fine just wasn't able to power off.

Fakra adaptor should be easy for fine. Again if anyone has a recommendation by providing a link.

The only issue I'm having is the power. So I connected it up. And even turned screen display off and removed key from ignition then locking the car. But it doesn't turn off. There's a constant power feed. Any ideas on how to resolve?

Haven't got multi function steering wheel.

Thanks for help in advance.

Youll need a VW specific quadlock with an ignition feed that needs to be connected as per this thread. Otherwise, youll need the appropriate connects2 kit if you have
steering wheel buttons

As for the fascia, anything to fit the Mk5 Golf or 6R polo will fit.

Hi

Would this be the one http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayIS ... spheader=1

Would it resolve my power problem? Where do I wire the red power cable to?

The quad lock that I had with the unit was powering up the headunit and powering it up. It just didn't power off even after ignition out and looking the car.

Thanks in advance.
