Looking to lower my 2010 1.2 6r on H and R springs
Can anyone tell me what exactly I'll need? What size sockets will I need?

It appears you don't really know what you're doing. The rear is easy to do, you'll need a 15 and 16mm socket to release the shocks from the beam axle.
The front is a lot more difficult due to the McPherson struts. The spring is coiled around the shock absorber.
If you don't know what you're doing, go to a garage. A suspension spring to the face can easily kill you.
If you do feel like you're able, and you're really really really sure...
You'll need
- Set of sockets (10-17mm) and a 22mm for the top strut
- Set of torxes for the strut and the connecting rods
- An Allen key for the top of the strut
- Knuckle spreader tool
- Spring compressors

I'm assuming I'll be okay providing I'm careful with the springs and use the compressors properly.

Well, if you are willing to hard the hard way, buy a copy of the Haynes Repair Manual, it is only for the 6R Polo, but a lot of stuff is the same for both the 6R and the 6C, certainly as far as the suspension is concerned. You should add a large socket for the RHS drive shaft into that list of tools. Oh and a large multi spline bit for the strut clamping bolt - and maybe a few more tools as well as trolley jacks and axle stands.
