Alpine head unit 6c

Post by Dink »

it looks like alpine have made a unit that can replace the composition unit in a 6c polo

the unit itself here

and the trim panel and adaptors here

i'm still trying to find the price of the trim and parts

and also if the unit is compatible with an oem reversing camera

it's not a cheap unit but looks like it integrates well

The longer I look at the picture, the less sense it makes.
- Can't the poor chap afford a house, no keys on the car key ring. There isn't even a ring
- Why is he/she standing still in the middle of the Theodor Heuss strasse? In fact, why isn't there anyone in the drivers seat? By the looks of the engine temperature meter, he's been standing there for a while.
- In fact, judging by the car key position, the ignition is in the off position?

Long story short
- The satnav is so expensive, you have to sell your house
- It destroys your car to the point of shutting down
- It haunts your climatronic

I'm not a sane person, but I wouldn't buy it.

truly well written and said[emoji1369]!!! couldn’t agree more.

nothing is comparable to the factory design. but maybe it’s good for some chaps who prefer the function over the form. i would prefer functions follows form standard though.

i don't see what the problem is with it?

if the composition media was fault free and was able to be upgraded in my car i wouldn't be looking at this.

perhaps it would be cheaper to buy a new discover pro unit direct from vw

I both agree and disagree with the German petrolhead.
My personal preference is to adhere to OEM functionality and equipment.
Especially in the MQB cars, many of the car functions are operated by the 'car' button on the satnav unit.

That being said, there are many good companies that have make very decent radios and satnav units for many years (Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine) .

So there is not a wrong and a right, and I was just joking about the expensive and bad unit. With the DM unit, you are unfortunately bound to VW for both maps and software update, sometimes at a cost and sometimes after a long wait. I understand the need to go aftermarket for some people.
