Well.. fair enough really, it's exactly what they'd be doing anyway, without wasting police time in doing it. Personally I'm all for this type of check up, it helps weed out the extremely unroadworthy and it's done at the officer's discretion with no pre-determined penalties.. that kind of flexibility I'm all for (unlike automated cameras issuing fixed penalties without taking any other factors into account :evil: )

its been ging on for months round here!!!! see them all the time driving round, havent seen them pull anyoone yet, they alwasys seem to be sat in the local ford garage being repaired :lol:

GC yeah, funny thing on the tv news thing that's on the local trains nowadays on the home-run.... story about how "motoring organisations" (which ones??) are up in arms over the govt's new variable fine scheme for speeding offences. An idiot local newscasters comment about the fine lawmakers of our nation's "recent" (like, 3 years?) ad campaigns to "convince" us that being even 3 or 4mph over the limit was likely to end in catastrophe (his words!) really got my goat...

yeah... so it could... or if the roads that bloody dangerous, so would being a few mph under the blanket 30 limit if twere raining... divots.
