Hello!

So I own a 2017 6c that was fitted with the composition colour infotainment (5inch)

I wanted to upgrade so I bought the discover pro unit online from a company as a retrofit kit. The unit was coded to my vin and was sent to me.

Hooked it up, and works great! Everything works exept 2 things.

1) It won't let me disable ESC. When I try, i get a "this function is currently not availiable" message.
2) Same thing happens when I press the "start stop info" button and the TPMS.

Basically it won't let me set the tyre pressure and disable esc. Everything else (radio, bluetooth, nav, mfd, steering wheel controls) work perfectly.

Any Ideas as to what can be the problem? I own obd eleven, does anyone know a menu where maybe I could enable esc control via the infotainment? (in case it is disabled). With my old unit I can disable esc just fine.

Yes, I could turn esc off with my previous system. As well as reset (set new value) the TPMS system, and view the start stop info. Now I get this message whenever I try to access any of these.

I suppose the answer is somewhere in the coding and even more in the adaptation channels of 5F, the infotainment unit.
You'll need to configure these in such a way that it will show you a black Polo and is able to handle all the data streams from and to the engine and ABS for these functions.

I suppose you'll need a VCDS to code and a reference adaptation map to deduce codings.
Have a look at ross-tech.com and then in the refrence scan section. I posted a few Polos there, two of them had start/stop and ESC deactivation via 5F.

do they come under SWaP?

i know i've swapped my unit and lost bluetooth but i've not lost any other functions.

they only difference is that the unit i have is also from a polo so i don't know if that helps.

No it's not a paid function. Unit seems improperly configured.

If I find a reference scan of a polo and copy-paste it into the 5F channel, what will be affected?

You need to code it correctly. Two identical cars can have different coding. Incorrect coding can destroy a module to the point you cannot code it again

ODBeleven is not sufficient - this is a VCDS task.

I've contacted the company and they said it's an adaptation issue. They recomended finding a VCDS cable myself and then they will connect via team-viewer to do the correct coding for this car.

Should I trust them?

Also since fitting the unit, I have a sound problem. When playing at high volume the treble speakers (the ones in the A pillaer) make a sound much like white noise. Do you reckon it is the units fault, or the stock speakers can't handle the discover pro unit's output?

Hi, I have the same screen you had (5 inch composition color) in my polo and want to upgrade to a 6.5 composition media (the one which has Car Play) which is the one similar to what you have now. May I ask a few question about your swap?:
Was it complicated to swap? i.e - did you did it yourself or at an expert shop?
Did you install an additional aux port (as the one on the 6.5 screen is not right by the screen) and cd module with the sd card place?
Did the problem you had with the esc and tpms was solved? And is there a way you can avoid having this problem?
